Domination Fest ‘07

Domination Fest ’07 is organized by Music House in consultation with the rock bands of Maldives, according to their wishes. This is the first of its kind. It’s a musical series in which two bands will perform fortnighly on Thursday nights at the Youth Centre “Haruge”, starting from 17th May 2007. Domination Fest is not a competition and there will be no knock out bands. The audience will get to vote for their favourite band. At the end of each round the votes collected from every night’s performance will decide the best bands. It’s all in the hands of the audience as they are the only people that matter to the bands.

TERMS:

The show will be divided in to two rounds, where half of the bands from Round One will be taken to Round Two. And 5 bands from this round will be selected to perform at the Grand Finale to be held at the end of the series.

The selection of bands will be done according to the votes.

Each band has to perform at least one original song at each round.

Any band that fits into the rock category (from slow rock, grunge, new age metal to black and death metal) can apply.

The deadline for bands to enrol is 15th April 2007.

The main purpose of the Music House’s Domination Fest is to keep the youth musically occupied, to give them something to pass their time by, a means of enjoyment, a night life, rather than wasting their time. And to give the opportunity for all the rock bands in the Maldives to show their potential in being creative. The Music House is currently working on other projects related to music in promoting and bringing forward the originality of this musical nation. It’s time to cover up the cover songs.
